Terms Of Service
The terms that govern your use of this website and how they relate to a signed engagement.
Last updated: September 2026. These terms govern your use of specialized.tax. Services performed for clients are governed by a separate written engagement agreement.
Agreement To These Terms
This website is operated by Specialized Accounting LLC, an Alabama limited liability company located at 5641 Hwy 53, Harvest, AL 35749. By accessing or using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
About The Firm And The Scope Of Services
Specialized Accounting LLC provides bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation and planning, audit support for returns the firm prepared, business formation and registration assistance, financial reporting, and notary services. The firm serves clients in person in North Alabama and works with clients nationwide virtually.
Browsing this site, submitting the contact form, or booking a consultation does not by itself create a professional relationship. A professional relationship begins only when both you and the firm sign a written engagement agreement identifying the specific services to be performed, the periods or returns covered, the responsibilities of each party, and the fee arrangement. Nothing on this site expands the scope of an engagement beyond what that agreement states.
Site Content Is Informational Only
The content on this site is provided for general information. It is not accounting, tax, financial, investment, or legal advice, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows the details of your situation. Tax law, payroll rules, and filing requirements change frequently and apply differently depending on facts. Do not act or refrain from acting on the basis of anything published here without obtaining advice specific to your circumstances.
No result described or implied on this site is a promise or guarantee of a particular outcome. Outcomes in tax and accounting matters depend on facts, documentation, and the decisions of taxing authorities, none of which the firm controls.
Consultations And Scheduling
Consultations booked through this site are for discussing your situation and determining whether and how the firm can help. Information shared during a consultation is treated as confidential. A consultation does not create an engagement, and no work is performed until an engagement agreement is in place.
Please give notice as early as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule, so the time can be offered to someone else.
Your Responsibilities As A Client
Where an engagement exists, the accuracy and completeness of the work depends on the information you provide. You are responsible for supplying complete and accurate records, for reviewing anything prepared for you before it is filed or issued, for retaining supporting documentation, and for meeting deadlines that require your signature or approval. The firm is not responsible for consequences arising from information that was withheld, incomplete, or inaccurate when it was provided.
Fees And Payment
Fees are set out in your engagement agreement or in a written estimate provided before work begins. Invoices are due as stated on the invoice. Work may be paused on accounts that fall past due, including work with a filing deadline attached, and the firm will tell you before that happens. Third-party costs, such as state filing fees or expedited processing charges, are your responsibility unless the engagement agreement says otherwise.
Communications
By providing your phone number or email address, you agree that the firm may contact you at that number or address about your inquiry and about active work. Ordinary email is not a secure channel, and you should not send sensitive personal or financial information through the contact form or by email. Secure exchange will be arranged for documents that require it.
Third-Party Services And Links
This site may contain links to, or embedded tools from, third parties, including scheduling, mapping, and review platforms, as well as the accounting, payroll, and tax software the firm uses. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. The firm does not control them and is not responsible for their availability, content, or practices.
Intellectual Property
The content of this site, including text, layout, graphics, and the Specialized Accounting name and logo, is owned by Specialized Accounting LLC or used with permission, and is protected by applicable law. You may view, download, and print pages for your own reference. You may not republish, sell, or reproduce site content for commercial purposes, or use the firm’s name or logo, without written permission.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use this site to transmit unlawful, harassing, or misleading material, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or its systems, to interfere with its operation, or to collect information about other users. The firm may restrict access to anyone who does.
Disclaimer Of Warranties
This site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. The firm does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error free, or free of harmful components, or that the information on it is complete or current at any given moment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, are disclaimed with respect to this website. This disclaimer applies to the website, not to services performed under a signed engagement agreement, which are governed by that agreement.
Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Alabama law, Specialized Accounting LLC and anyone working on its behalf will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of your use of or inability to use this website, even if the possibility of such damages was known. Liability arising from services performed under an engagement is governed by the limitation set out in that engagement agreement.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Specialized Accounting LLC and anyone working on its behalf from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of your misuse of this site or your violation of these terms.
Governing Law And Venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of this site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Madison County, Alabama, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full force.
Changes To These Terms
The firm may update these terms as the site or the practice changes. The current version is always the one posted on this page, with the date shown at the top. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
